We can't always choose the music life plays for us...

I read this quote today by an unknown author. It read, "We can't always choose the music life plays for us, but we can choose how we dance to it." This resonates on so many levels. We can choose sorrow, sadness, and loss or joy-filled memories, gratitude, and experiences as a lesson to progress. Last week, I choose sorrow, sadness, and loss. Grief is hard, loss is loss and navigating through changes in life can be challenging. I said goodbye last week to a great man. He embraced life... he chose joy, he created moments of happiness when others chose differently. He lived to experience new things, travel, teach others, and love fiercely. As I shed tears of sorrow, I could hear his laugh, see his smile and although he is no longer here (which still seems very surreal), his memory and his legacy will far out live his life in those he taught, those he called friends and those he had as family. So many lives have been touched by such an incredible spirit. This morning as I thought about him and read this quote I was reminded again of his smile, his exaggerated eye rolls and hilarious laugh. I know that he would be the one cracking a joke to bring levity to a sad situation, he would be saying it is going to be okay, he would be encouraging positive memories and moving forward.
We have choices every day that effect our minds, our energy, our overall well being. We need to choose wisely. Life is meant to be lived with joy. We all have our purpose and some of us (raise hand here) are still on that journey to find it or at least understand it.

Life is fragile, be kind, show love, and find the spark that brings you happiness.
